I submitted a joint divorce application a few months ago and stupidly made two errors on the application that resulted in the hearing being adjourned until this month. I need to supply an affidavit explaining:
- Why my name on the divorce application is different to my marriage certificate (I used my married name on the app whereas my marriage certificate shows my maiden name)
Surely this error is a common occurrence as a lot of women would use their married name?
Basically, I'm not sure how to explain the "correct information" and why the "difference occurred"? Should I have used my maiden name on the divorce application?
Any help would be appreciated.
