Just wondering if there is anyone who can give me information about statutes for claims against an employee.

An employer has made a claim that they "discovered" theft of funds 12 months after the alleged occurrence. The issue is the employee maintains their innocence and has stated that if there was the discrepancy which supposedly occurred it, would have bee immediately obvious.

The employee resigned and a full handover of the position was done and this alleged theft should have shown up here at least, if nowhere else. The employer has gone to police 12 months after claiming they have just "found it".

Thanks for the reply. This is actually a very stressful situation for the person involved as the claims are so bizarre it's almost laughable...a complete hand over had been done, and at this time all accounts are checked for discrepancies. However the claims are now that supposedly somehow this ex employee has been able to "hide" this for a further 12 months after they left the job. Something which couldn't be done due to the process and systems carried out daily. I think they're just trying to fathom why they are being put through this after such a long time of bein gone. Especially considering the supposed theft occurred 4 months before they left and didn't show up digitally until 16 months later.
