Hello,

I currently own a property that I live in. I will be moving shortly and have approved a real estate to manage my property.

The on-site managers accosted my real estate agent wanting to know the price that I was renting it. Her husband is part of body corporate but she is not. My question is, do I need body corporate approval to have a tenant who has been thoroughly checked out to rent the apartment?

Thank you

Generally not, however you should check your bylaws. Often Body Corporate by laws may specify that you cannot rent to certain people, for example you can't rent to government housing etc.

Check your bylaws it will all be in there.

Hello, thank you for your answer. There is nothing in my by laws about it. The tenants have been vetted by the real estate. They have done a good job checking.

I don't think you would need approval then. They are probably just sticky beaking.
