There is no mechanism to provide for cross-claims,
counter-claims, or any comparable action
in the course of a criminal prosecution.

If there was, then there would be legislation to which I would refer you.
But because there isn't, there isn't.

People will sometimes initiate a separate civil case after a criminal trial as counterclaims are not possible during criminal trials.
