6 year old, interim IVO with contested hearing date pending. Child lives with mother, sees father every second weekend. Court Orders allow father to (a) facetime regularly and (b) have mid-week access - neither of which father has taken up. Mother has had to make all medical and educational decisions as father does not respond to messages about schooling or medical issues (even when child was admitted to hospital for asthma and mother advised him, he did not call to check on child at all). Child now reluctant to visit with father due to being exposed to further family violence with current partner - mother has suggested a reduced access period with a view to returning to full access when child works through their issues. Mother has engaged child psychologist on medical advice. Father has now lawyered up and demanding child not attend - can he legally stop mother from taking child even though child is showing great rapport with psychologist and making good progress?
