Hey there,

About 2 months ago, my car broke down on the way home to Melbourne.

Long story short, it's dead. I called around and found a company where a guy was willing to buy my car for $800. I have text correspondence between us where he agrees on a value and ongoing texts apologizing about not making it to the bank, etc.

Anyway, it's been over 2 months where he has stalled and had reasons for not making it to the bank etc. He's not flat out ignoring messages and I can never get through when I call.

Was wondering if anyone knew the next steps I can take into recovering the money.

Cheers?

Recover it?

Or do you mean - get him to go through with it?

Apologies, I made this post quickly in a 2min spare time I had today and failed to mention he had already collected my car from the mechanic in Canberra so has had possession of my car for the last month and a half.

The good news is I sent a text saying that I am forced to seek legal help and he has promptly replied.
