So I got a quote $500 to move a pool table from one house to another and position up stairs. They left the table on the front verandah...

They still reckon I ought to pay the $500?

Thoughts under Australian Consumer Law?

Think you have posted in the wrong forum - general law or ACL would have been better.

Not sure. Is there a occupational health and safety issue moving it up stairs (ie too heavy)? Does it fit up the stairs (legs easily removable? able to turn corners?)

Was it quoted subject to .....(something)? Are the removalists pool table specialists? or cheap general removalists with no experience moving pool tables? What size table, how heavy, and does it have a slate base? Were the removalists told the size and weight?

You might have to pay some, not necessarily all of the amount.
