Is it legal for a 16-year-old male to date a 13-year-old female without sexual intercourse? Like just do dates and hug and normal stuff but have no sex or anything like that.

Thanks

You are 16, she is 13, and her Dad has a problem with the age gap?

We haven't started dating because we want to know if we can. So no one in her family knows. She did tell me her dad doesn't like that kind of stuff but she doesn't live with him, she lives with her mum. I don't know what her mum would think though.

The only illegal bit would be having sex.
You can be prosecuted for that.

Also, no <ahem> very personal images.
Neither of you are of age to do that - it's child pornography,
even when it's of yourself (and you have to both be 18 for it not to be)

Yeah, I don't want anything to do with that kind of stuff. I just want a normal relationship where its like hugging and kissing if that's allowed and me taking her out for dates. That's my way of dating because of my previous past

You'll be right.
Gentleman are few and far between. Be one.
Good luck.

So if we dated and we told her mum and at first she is okay with it or not, what happens if she tells the police I did sexual stuff with her even though I didn't? What can happen if this does happen?

Seems the real issue is that her Mum has a problem with you?

Well I don't know what would happen as my mum cares about my safety and she keeps saying that if we dated and her parents found out, her mum can call the cops and say that I did stuff to her daughter that I wouldn't even do and then the police will be involved and I can get in trouble and something will go on my record.

There is a risk of that happening, and is obviously serious if it does. If you want to go ahead anyway, you need to take steps to make she doesn't have reason to be able to make a claim.

Show her you're polite, genuine and trustworthy. Always have a chaperone who is reputable - so if there is a claim made against you you have someone else's word to refute it. Don't put yourself in a situation where you could get into trouble.

If you're serious about things, do it the right way. If it seems too hard, you might have your answer...
