I've met a couple of cops over the years who were a complete disgrace to their uniform and job. Serve and protect be buggered.

Yeah, that's my point. I'm certainly not saying every cop is a liar or corrupt, but there's at least a sizeable minority of them that are attracted to the power that the position provides them, along with the lack of accountability and the protection from within, where it seems more common for other police officers to back up another's lies than to call them out.

I'm just disappointed that (from what I've seen here, albeit with Tim claiming I understood nothing of what he said) the law doesn't seem to provide many protections against it.

At least Vic police are honest. They don't bother to lull you into a false sense of security with the serve & protect bull ****. It's Uphold the Right. Which seems to mean that if you've got enough money & power behind you they'll do their job diligently. If not, look after yourself.

Sammy you're very entertaining. Your ex obviously did not appreciate a bloody good sense of humour. Her loss.

Nah she hated how most women (and quite a few blokes) swooned in my presence due to my good looks. Can't really blame her...

A great sense of humour & distinguished grey hair hey? Stop it, you'll have me swooning. Very inappropriate in a legal forum. Did you say you were a teacher? Plenty of swooning women there. I don't know how straight men get any work done in that job. Between the flirting female work mates & the mums. Oh & according to you - the gay male teachers as well. Busy! We better stop hijacking peoples threads before we get growled at by a moderator :)
