Please direct me if there is another thread for this.

Someone has made a sexual assault allegation against my partner from 11 years ago. He is adamant he never had relations with her. He now lives in a different state to the complainant and is scheduled to make a statement during the week. He is devastated and has no idea who to turn to or how to even start to prove he is innocent.

Any help on this matter would be great!

Get real legal advice before talking to the police.

This is potentially a serious offence and good legal advice from a criminal lawyer is advisable before any discussions are had with police. There is no such thing as a 'friendly chat' with police in these situations. Police will not be looking to see if your partner is innocent, they will be looking to see if he is guilty.

Oh yes! Most definitely seeking real legal advice. We only found out today. Needless to say, we will be fighting it all the way!

The seriousness is not lost on either of us!

I am in this same position Bronie. Are we able to chat at all?
Welcome. This isn't a social media site, it's a forum, so everything's public (there's no chat facility that I know of).

I recommend you post your own question in the Criminal Law Forum (The "Post New Question" button is at the upper right of the page under the search box.)

Select your state, enter a title and then type your question(s). Provide a little info like Bronie did above. (You can ignore the tags box as they will be created automatically.)
