I received a letter notifying me of a property developers application to have working hours extended on Saturdays to 5pm. They're building across the road from my home. How can I get this stopped? I think there's a law that states that everyone is entitled to a reasonable level of peace at their home. If that's the case, this application might violate that law. Any ideas?

Tell the council you do not approve and see what happens from there.

If the extended work hours proceed post back with the state and council area you live in, the zoning , along with the Act/Regulation the council used to allow the extended hours.

Okay. Thanks. I will. They actually left at about one o'clock this Saturday, so I'll wait and see what happens. Just out of curiosity; there'd be no way of getting the work hours set to start at eight o'clock on weekdays, rather than seven o'clock, would there?

Can't see that happening. A seven start is pretty much guaranteed.

I have the same thing happening across from me atm. I checked my local laws and it is a 7 am start, though I found they are not allowed to have idling trucks at 6:30 am in the morning waiting for a 7 am start.
