Hi, I'm developing a game for a Software Design and Development course major work, and I was looking to use the stop-motion technique with Lego figures as the animations. What are the rules with Copyright for this?

I've had a look at their guidelines (LEGO.com Legal - Legal Notice - Fair Play) but I'm not 100% sure whether this is an infringement on their intellectual property.

They tell you to make it clear that the game has not been sponsored by Lego or has any association with the company itself, which I can do, but they recommended ask a lawyer on whether it would be ok to release the game (obviously not going to be very big and will be free), any ideas about this?
