I am an owner /occupier in an inner Sydney suburb where our rents and property values would be considered to be expensive. In the last couple of years a couple of owners/investors have entered into tenancy agreements with Bridge Housing - one of many accommodation agencies being used by FACS to manage the placement of welfare tenants in NSW. For the past year multiple neighbours have had their lives negatively impacted by the people placed into these apartments by Bridge Housing. Constant calls to Police and Strata management have become a daily activity. These agencies are supposed to have a duty of care in the placements they make. Recent shocking experiences in our building involving drugs/security concerns have lead us all to wonder if, as an owners corporation we have a right to prevent owners signing leases with accommodation agencies like Bridge Housing?? Please help!!!
