Hi my neighbours built a retaining wall, block and concrete, approximately less than a metre high, right up to boundary (fence) in 2005, raised there ground level, to half way up our fence on there side, without notice to us. (This also put pressure on the fence causing it to lean towards us, we approached them at the time, he stated there is nothing to be done as it’s concreted in) he did the work while we were at work. we have no privacy from them and there guests. The fence is 6ft on our side and 4ft approximately on there’s. Now he’s at it again he’s adding moreconcrete and pushed it about a foot (top of fence) towards us, putting pressure on it’sstructure, when I approached him again 17/11/17 he stated he’s not affecting thefence at all, he told me it needs replacing, the fence is old but ok (was) it’s now under stress more than before, he’s blaming the fence notwhat he’s doing to it. I put a string weight on top of fence it’s a foot+ away from base offence. ( we also have a pool on our side of fence) what do we do, help (we are inQueensland)

you would need to get in touch with your local council.

Usually a retaining wall under a meter high is not required to be authorized by council, so don't mention specifically the retaining wall. Start by saying they raised their ground level - that is what will get council excited!
