Hi, I've worked for a large Supermarket chain at their DC in Perth for over 6 years. There's over 500 employees. After a manager's pricey car was hit recently they are now saying we can only reverse park our cars in the carpark because they think its safer. I am uncomfortable reverse parking and quite sure with a rising panic with cars waiting for me to do so I'll definitely dent or scratch other cars beside me. Can they enforce this? Can they threaten my job if I refuse to reverse park? Can they ban me from the carpark which will make it impossible for me to work there as there are no shifts that are normal hours. Its a 24hr/7 day operation. I am a member of the union but they aren't big on standing up to our employer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

Sorry I forgot to add that the carpark is on federal land and my employer takes no responsibility to what happens in it.

Who operates the car park? The Cth or supermarket?

I'd be talking to HR asking for an exemption or buying a reverse camera kit. Cameras are quite cheap this days.
