My son had an avo taken against him by his ex-wife 5 years ago, which had lapsed after a 12 month period. No criminal record listed.
He is in a new relationship now and wishes to sponsor her for a partner visa.
Will the past AVO effect this application and does he need to mention it.

Hi Vicki,
It shouldn't affect him if no criminal record is recorded. The last question depends what they ask, have you ever had a violence order taken out against you - yes, do you have any criminal convictions recorded - No, have you ever been charged with a criminal offence - ????
