My mother who passed away about 1 year ago had car insurance and home insurance which I both fully inherited. The insurance continued to be charged to her bank account monthly which I didn’t know about. Do I have any rights to obtain a refund from the insurer or is it my fault I didn’t know about the insurance and cancel it?

Sorry you lost your mother. Did your mother have a will and is a solicitor handling her estate or are you doing it? I would have thought her bank account would have been frozen pending settling her estate.

Have you been paying insurance on the house and car and are both now in your name and when were they transferred to you? These are questions you need to look at then talk to her insurers or get the solicitor she used to do it for you.

Good luck, hope you receive refunds.
