Is it compulsory for employees in a permanent casual job to share arrangement to cover each other's holidays under employment law?

Don't remember ever signing a contract. We were both full time employees and wanted to reduce our hours so were offered job share arrangement.

If you are a casual employee each time you work is a new contract and the employer generally does not have to replicate the hours you had on your last shift. Additionally you have the right to refuse shifts. So its not compulsory. However you do still have rights in relation to unfair dismissal if you are dismissed and you have regular and systematic hours over a 6 month period.

Are you being threatened with dismissal?
