I think it depends on the circumstances of your case and you would probably have to think about how the accident happened. Most likely, your lawyer is probably just trying to strengthen your case and your credibility. I think that in general, it is much better for people to address these issues early on in the case as opposed to later when you're in the settlement stage.
But like I said, I don't know enough about what happened to you to be certain. Maybe bring up the concern with your lawyer?
